Cricket Report 3rd November

The 1st XI was beaten by six wickets by Logan Park HS in its first 40-over match of the season in Mosgiel last Saturday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, the 1st XI amassed a total of 151 all out from 36.5 overs. The key human contributor with the bat was Arnaldo Pelser, who batted the entirety of the innings for 35*. Extras, however, was the big performer on the day, contributing a staggering 71 runs to our total. In the field, an early wicket gave our boys some hope, but three fruitful partnerships from Logan Park took the game away from us, with the opposition reeling in the total for the loss of four wickets and with 14.2 overs to spare. A big thank you to Rob Mills for driving the lads through in the van!

This Saturday, we play host to Otago Boys' HS Gold, with the match set to begin at 1:00. Assuredly, Coach Matsas will be hoping to see more aggression and accuracy in the field from the boys, as well as plenty of determination and a full 40-over effort with the bat.
