Our school vocal group is called Korimako which is the te reo Māori word for bellbird.
The group has worked hard this year, spending numerous lunchtimes practising. On Thursday 27 June they had their first public performance, singing three songs at the first ever Matariki festival in Balclutha.
The song the students loved the most was Te Ata Māhina by Renata and Tukiterangi Curtis. The song is about letting go of the past and welcoming a new dawn. Very appropriate for Matari…
