On Friday 18th October we had a visit from the Fonterra Science Roadshow.
The Science Roadshow offers school children, their teachers and accompanying parents and wider public visitors an opportunity to explore various science and technology concepts with hands-on activities. It provides a unique, informal learning opportunity that aims to spark curiosity and encourages cooperative, interactive learning for the young visitors that attend from surrounding primary schools.
Clockwise from top: Ellie and Jess show visiting Clutha Valley students the digestive system mannequin; the rotating chair that allows student to experience changes in speed depending on where the put their arms; Mayor Bryan Cadogan, Mr Sly, and Deputy Principal Mr Douglas with Mrs Dougherty and students from St Joseph’s Primary School.
We would like to thank the Fonterra Science Roadshow and their team for bringing this travelling show to Balclutha. We would also like to thank our Year 10 helpers who acted as guides for this event: Jess Daumann, Meghan Parlane, Cooper Baird, Solomon Phillips, Toby Craig, Oliver Scarth, Ellie Olsen-Vetland, Erin Turner, Lilly Taylor, Lesha Medalla, Jacob Neethling, Jerico Gerida, and Jayden Gelacio.
