On Wednesday the year 13 PE class went to the Otago University School of Physical Education, Sport & Exercise science to participate in physiological and biomechanic lab tests.
The students participated in 3 strenuous exercises to compare how their bodies responded. They completed a 10 minute bike ride in a 37degree Celsius heat chamber, a 10-15 minute VO2 max run and a swimming resistance and drag comparison in the aquatic flume.
The students were also all lucky enough to receive domino’s pizza bucket hats & vouchers from OUSA, which made up for their hard work in the labs. The students were fantastic and all learnt lots from this amazing experience. A big thank you to Mrs Butler for her organisation and taking the students, and Miss Fiveash for accompanying the group.
