Our touch 1sts have achieved a significant victory by winning the South Island secondary school touch mixed championship. The team went undefeated throughout the tournament and dominated the majority of their games.
In the final they found themselves down 2 from the beginning, however, never gave up and fought back to a 9-6 win. Overall, they scored 62 tries and only conceded 31 which is an awesome effort.
The team’s success is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of every player and the management involved.
Massive thanks to Trey, Ben, Heidi, Dan and the supporters for getting the team to this stage.
The team will now be focusing on their future goals and are well positioned for continued success towards the end of the year at nationals. We look forward to hearing what they will accomplish next !
