Wellbeing Week 9 : Peer Support

Peer Support sessions continued this week with a session in the hall with Mrs Bloxham Guidance Counsellor, Mr Matsas Year 9 Dean, Mrs Jory Deputy Principal -Junior Pastoral and Mrs Wright First Aid/Attendance speaking about student support, our values and positive behaviour expectations.

Some of our Year 9  students and 13 leaders practised shaking hands when they receive awards. A firm handshake, immaculate uniform, eye contact, a smile and a thankyou were appreciated.

PB4L systems

-PB4L stands for positive behaviour for learning, our school values are respect, excellence and perseverance.

-Badges and REP cards-12 signatures of one value is the bronze badge, 30 signatures of one value the silver badge and 50 of one value the gold.

-Each week our student-led assembly has a chocolate fish draw and reinforces our school values through their messages and focus for the week.

-There are School Community guerdons at the office for students to put a token in to choose a whole school reward, at the moment these are for the charities Kidscan, White Ribbon and I am Hope

-Students learned about some of our basic expectations for uniform, no chewing gum, staying in your seat until the bell rings etc

-Year 13 leaders were thanked for the help and support of our junior students. There were many examples of them guiding and encouraging our Year 9s as they learn about how we do things in our school.
